    Hey, I just tweaked my article and inserted more of my opinion. If you want more of it, just ask, since I need a bit of direction in the field of opinons (I’m really used to having to keep an objective view) I’ll try to get the student interviews, but I can’t right now.

    Hi Alicia ,

    Im very sorry but i accidentaly deleted your comment on my hispanic carnival article thinking that it was not intended for me, It a great article that i really wanted to write but then i remembered that Mr. Weiss had originally told us that we cannot write about anything that we are directly related to and I am in the hispanic club and I am going to be one of the Miss Universe’s, im sure you know what im talking about so therefore i cant write the article.
    I spoke to Mr.Weiss and he said that I should write the Janitors article and although it may not sound too interesting im sure it will work out

    Hi Alcia this is the ground work i have for my article

    Academies good or bad? Pushing students to a field of study so soon… will it cause premature career choosing that can affect the happiness in a student’s future life. I personally think that academies aren’t the best thing why would they want to be catapulted into an adult life in the prime of high school. I know, I know I have heard a MILLION times that a teacher job is to “get you ready for college” and trust me I love the idea and experience of college and I do really want to go just as much as the next kid but with all the mix ups that can go wrong with the academies will and probably go wrong. Sorry for the pessimism. But I spit the truth!

    Don’t believe me? Well I’m not the only person who thinks the academies aren’t totally AMAZING!

    Hey Alicia…

    I have an opinions idea for you, editor to editor. I’m writing an article about how Beach High is trying to become a Title I school. You can write about

    1. Do you think that Beach High should become a Title I school?

    2. Why was it that students who turned in their lunch forms LATE got to have a party that was DJed, while students who turned in their forms in a timely manner got NOTHING?

    well i know we have had communication
    problems and i apologize but that wont be an issue anymore .
    Mr Weiss gave me your phone number and if possible do you think we could exchange emails or myspace’s just because it would open up several ways to communicate with one another

    Honestly, I am working on a piece on Robert Rubin but it isnt working out to great because getting in contact with him has been a mission impossible !
    So, if you have any ideas or suggestions for me I would really appreciate it if you were to get back to me as soon as possible because I need to be working on something and have completed it by the 28 of December

    Hey Alicia, well I was talking to my friends to get some new ideas and they said that they would love to see an article that shows how according to them “all cute boys are jerks!” I think this might be a good article idea. I had asked Mr.Weiss what he thought and he gave me the okay as long as I don’t put put any boys’ names as examples. It’s all up to you now! I already have quotes and I already started the first paragraph just waiting on your permission!!! Thanks for everything

    Well I am currently working on a teenage drinking article , something along the lines of
    ” You Booze , YOU LOSE ” so basically the negative effects on teenagers..

    I really like the after school activity article
    I will try my best to have my drinking article first draft up by thursday. It most likely will not be complete but it will be something

    Hey alicia, well I’m still working on the interviewing and fixing the angle like you said… I will be sure to have it in by tomorrow… I am so sorry I missed the dealine I got the dates mixed up and I thought that it was due tomorrow!! I will definetly have it by then! Again I’m so sorry I know your grade depends on this too! And also I asked Mr.Weiss if I could do a movie review after this article and he said yes so that will be my next article. Thanks for everything !

    Hey Alicia, well I finally got it together! I got a couple of quotes from guys and I tried to really show my opinion. I only included one of the quotes but if you would like another say the word and I will have it edited by Friday. I tried hard but I feel like something is missing maybe you can help me at spotting it. Welll please check it out on my blog! Thanks boss! (haha) :-)

    Alicia, remember that opinion pieces normally don’t have quotes from other people in them. They’re just based on your opinion only. If you can edit what you commented to me so that you take out the quotes, and if you’d like, use what other people said to make you point, without actually writing it in the article. I don’t know if I’m making sense. UGH! I’ll tell you everything tomorrow.

    I’d also thank you to let me know when you edit my piece. Others might check your page every day, but I not responsible for doing so. A little more extensive edits would be nice. Periods and commas do not make an article better.

    Hey Alicia, sorty I bit your head off, I knew nothing about the assignment.
    I’m having a problem with the draft piece. Aside from information of the draft (which I could print out for reference if you like) I don’t feel that this article will need quotes. this doesn’t strike me as an article that need another’s opinion on it. I read Krop’s pieces and they don’t even hint at an interview, they’re just editorials.
    Please don’t get mad at me for not doing any interviews

    The opinion piece that I am writing (Community Service Hours) does sort of need statistics like youe suggested. By statistics I mean a research of the slides of not completed hours. But, couldn’t a few stories of these hours be the same thing?
    Also, I don’t know anyone who is willing to reveal their name for a story, so do you want me to make them a secret identity name, so they’lll feel more comfortable?
    And… the idea of making a story of revealing the truth of community service hours is sort of bad, at least to me. I want to do it, it is just that it might result in the school snooping around trying to find out which students did the hours and who didn’t and still got it.

    Do you have another idea I could do by Friday? The second idea of student parking wasn’t appealing to me, so in the end, I kind of, actually didn’t, do it. I was absent the entire week and I sort of put it off because of my trip and the topic isn’t interesting.

    I just got an idea to expand my article to also include something about the dirtiest places in beach high, jocelyn was telling me about lab tests that her science class did exposing the amount of bacteria on dorr handles water fountains ect so maybe i could include that in with the caferteria story?
